The Journey.

At the start of the 21st century, David Harrison started his journey as a Designer for Brilliant Stages, one of the worlds best and most forward-thinking stage set design & fabrication companies, specialising in efficient, lightweight, & innovative custom engineering.

During his time with Brilliant Stages, David worked on some of the largest boundary-pushing stage sets across the world. Designing & engineering custom sets for touring, installations & one-offs, whilst collaborating with world-renowned creatives and production managers to bring their visions to reality without jeopardising core production values.

After 13 years of gathering extensive knowledge about design, management, and productions, DHD was founded through his desire for new challenges/experiences and has since worked on a vast array of projects around the world. From technical director on Coach Backstage in Beverly Hills, production and art director for TIESTO's Residency @ MGM Grand Las Vegas, creative & architect for Great America's Mass Effect New Earth 4D Experience in California, overlay manager @ London 2017 World Championship Athletics, and technical design lead for the Spice World Tour....among many more.

David always strives to inspire, & invigorate new ideologies, through challenges/experiences, & by interfacing innovative technologies from all aspects of the world to create unique astonishing designs, & fluid seamless productions. No project is ever too big, small or complex for DHD.

    Full creative design visuals, renderings & scale models in a variety of options. These can later be easily transferred into CAD models.


  • CAD modelling/detailing 

    Basic or complex 3D modeling using AutoCAD and Solidworks of either existing products / designs or new concepts. 2D CAD detailing ready for manufacturing.

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the Live Events & Entertainment Industry has had a devastating impact on the companies and freelancers all around the world, that have dedicated their life's to producing the amazing experiences we all love. Our industry has the tradition of adapting and overcoming any crisis quickly by embracing new avenues, ideas, and keeping positive all whilst continuing to move forward. The breathtaking & miraculous shows will soon be back and helping to create new joyous memories for everyone and DHD is ready for the challenges ahead.

2020 is a year to forget for many but the vaccines have given renewed hope to everyone and that our industry might be able to open up again this summer with a sense of normality. Whilst looking forward we continue to scope out different opportunities in new sectors from all around the world.

Wellness

Branching out

With the pandemic in full flow, it's time to adapt and Health and fitness are one of the most important aspects of life. DHD has always wanted to use the experience gained whilst in California as a personal training coach and nutrition advisor to offer not just fitness and nutritional coaching, but steps to a new healthier way of life that adapts to the challenges we all face daily, as it’s not about strength, endurance, or physical appearance but improving our mental wellbeing. Once UK Certified 'Wellness' will become a new subsidiary of DHD.

March 2020 - August 2020

Coachella & Rolling Loud

When the world changed

Starting with the first flight of the year to California. I landed on 6th March in LA ready to work on Travis Scott's adventurous headliner stage set for Gallagher Staging in Orange County that was going to be used at Coachella & Rolling Loud in Miami. A week later COVID-19 becomes a reality and the industry stops. One by one festivals, tours, events all cancel. Over the next five months, five flights cancelled the visa extended twice and then contracted COVID-19 before flying back to the UK at the start of August.

Designed pitch decks, safe working practice and training manuals, and online tests for newly established COVID-19 companies 'EIR (Entertainment Industry Response)','Ready for doors' a disinfectant specialist and 'Social Sanctuary' the COVID safe live streaming venue.

November 2019 - December 2019

X-Factor Artist Production Manager

Cheeky Rascal Productions

Managed the construction & logistics of the stage set and creative, whilst working with TV production and artist management to produce the one-off performance for Louis Tomlinson's X-Factor live final.

August 2019 - September 2019

Technical Set Design Tutor

Brilliant Stages

Taught technical stage set design and value engineering without compromising a projects core production and design principals.

June 19 - July 2019

Technical Director Croke Park Stadium

Westlife The Twenty Tour

Dealing with logistics, house stage design and site management, to incorporate the arena tour production into the Croke Park stadium environment.

February 2019 - June 2019

Spice World Technical Design Lead

Brilliant Stages

Designed, engineered and managed the production and install of the touring stage set that consisted of nine elements including a 20m diameter x 3m high flown video ring & a 13m diameter architectural lighting sphere.
